Night Setback on Furnaces
Overview
The Nipawin Public Health Office has two residential furnaces that ventilate the facility each of which is controlled by a heat/cool thermostat. The units are running to maintain a constant setpoint during both occupied and un-occupied periods so by implementing a night setback strategy, significant savings can be achieved through reduced fan energy and natural gas usage.

Scope
Programmable thermostats will be installed and programmed to setback the setpoint temperature to 18 C during the un-occupied hours between 5:00pm and 7:00am

DHW Temperature Setback
Overview
The Nipawin Public Health Office has its Domestic Hot Water (DHW) supplied by a single gas-fired hot water heater located in the basement. During the audit the temperature measured at 184 f at the tap which is far hotter than necessary especially for a facility with no kitchen or laundry facilities. Reducing the DHW temperature will result in natural gas savings through decreased heating requirements and improved water heater efficiency.

Scope
The temperature adjustment on the existing hot water heating will be adjusted so that the water temperature at the tap is approximately 130.F.

Emergency Lighting (VFA)
Exit Sign_Small.jpgOverview
The Nipawin Public Health Office does not currently have emergency exit signs or associated self powered lighting installed at the facility. This equipment needs to be installed to mark egress points and paths of egress in order to abide by Electrical Safety Code, section 46-400.

Scope
LED Exit signs and self-powered emergency lighting will be installed as necessary.
