The Saskatchewan Environmental Society is a non-profit, registered charity whose mandate is to work towards a world in which all needs can be met in sustainable ways. Sustainability will require healthy ecosystems, healthy livelihoods and healthy human communities.
SES has been active in Saskatchewan since 1970. Through our volunteer committees we’ve worked on such issues as energy production and conservation, sustainable agriculture, mining, forests, nuclear power and urban planning.
We maintain a resource centre in downtown Saskatoon which contains a unique library of information files on environmental issues as well as books, magazines, videos and teaching manuals. SES produces a newsletter six times a year for our membership
We follow developing environmental issues and press for responsible action at the local, provincial, national and international levels. We are frequent participants in environmental assessment processes and multi-stakeholder task groups.
